About Alpine Pipeline Company

The backbone of wastewater service connecting communities along Vermont's Route 4 corridor for over 40 years

Our Story

The Alpine Pipeline Company is a Vermont “C” Corporation formed in 1983 to be owned by its Users/Shareholders and constructed in 1984 to initially serve the residential and commercial wastewater disposal needs along US Route 4 in the Western portion of the Town of Killington, the Town of Mendon, and Rutland Town. Contracts were executed with each of the Towns, and a contract to receive the wastewater was negotiated with The City of Rutland.

A collection pipe with two pump stations, Meadow Lake and Campbell, was then constructed from the top of Sherburne Pass to Campbell pump station adjacent to the Home Depot intersection, and then a force main was constructed to the Rutland City system on Killington Ave.

In 2000, the Alpine Pipeline Company entered mirrored contracts with the Killington Ski Resort and The City of Rutland to provide wastewater transportation services from their Wastewater Treatment Facility to the Rutland City Wastewater Treatment Facility for processing. This connection enters the Alpine system in front of the Pico Ski Area.

Also in 2000, the Alpine Pipeline Company entered mirrored contracts with the Town of Killington and Rutland City to provide transportation service for wastewater generated from a collection system that serves the lower Killington Road and a section of US Route 4E. The outfall of this system enters the Alpine Pipeline Company system at the top of Sherburne Pass.
